Hello people,
I've got a week off work which is traditionally a time when I set a project and inflict it upon you as a form of personal motivation. This week is no different in respect that there's a project, it is different in respect of the goals and back story to it.
A couple of weekends ago I, and many others, went up to Birmingham NIA for FFG's Nationals competitions. That was X-Wing for me and might also have been Netrunner if it hadn't been on the same day. In short the weekend was rather an anti climax for me in some ways, far better in others, which in turn sets the background to this week off. It's also finalised a number of hobby decisions that were pretty much making themselves along the way.
I did actually attempt to blog from Birmingham but Blogger App wasn't playing ball. It turned out that the event wasn't what I'd hoped it might be, for a number of reasons, and also inspired me to blog / report predominantly in pictures rather than words;
The slightly esoteric point here was that despite dissapoint on the tables it became far more about making the most of the weekend. For a couple of hours on Saturday I became rather grumpy for a number of reasons but sorted myself out before ruining my, or anyone else's weekend.
More about that later, I have redemptive stuff to go and do ;)
TOYS. I've been in a steady relationship with "the hobby" for many years now. This blog is an attempt to rediscover MY hobby and provide motivation to paint MY toys and play MY games. The topics may wander to rugby, cricket and the x-box but feel free to skip those bit if you wish........ either of you :)

The Week Off - Finale
Hello people,
Well that went quickly but in short I got everything done and a little but extra besides. As far as Points is concerned I'm scoring for the apartment block, Trandisgan Slaver and Z95 plus the final five Nomads, for a fully painted army, totalling 15 Painting Points.
As a bonus I've re-sorted the storage for my Infinity terrain, with room to expand, and found a good source of posters for detailing which have been liberally applied. All will be covered in a specific post I the near future....
Meanwhile my X-Wing Gozanti has been prepped for paint, with scheme I mind, with Wave 8 being released on Thursday with plenty of scummy goodness on offer. Once again a more specific post is planned....
Until then :)

The Week Off - Prelude
Hello people,
So, another week off, another "realistic" project list. The last one worked out pretty well so hopefully that's repeatable. It's bits and pieces this time round but each with its own purpose and payoff.
So from top left;
YV-66: I've got the re-paint scheme sorted in my head for the Hound's Tooth / Natasha Pup. I'm playing down at Warboar on Saturday and I want to get it on the table for some fly casual action.
Nomads: Just the Inventnors, plus Pandas, and the Intruder Sniper to complete the set. Big woop!
Apartment: It's steampunk, designed for Wolsung, but I'm more than happy that it'll fit in with my industrial set in a Blade Runner kind of way. I'll be going for a semi derelict look with some Sci Fi graphitti to finish the job. I'm playing Tuesday night so it's the priority one piece.
Shasvassti Gwailos: These ARE recent purchases but targeted. With a far better a appreciation of the game I've worked out a list I want to put in some games with. This is just a build, base and spray job. I've got a specific plan for the paint job that will need to be done as a job lot.
So that's it. As before I'm aiming to be good to go by midday.
Best laid plans ;)
